Based on the strategic aims of the Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) the main objectives and tasks for the forthcoming three years are as follows:

Increase citizen involvement in the electoral process

It is a notable negative tendency in the Central and Eastern European region, similarly to that in the developed democracies, that the activity of the citizens has decreased concerning elections, fewer and fewer voters have participated in the polling process. Reversing this tendency is a common interest and ACEEEO, by its specific means, may contribute to achieving it. By the discussion of our region's experience and the suggestions of experts from other countries, we want to adopt recommendations that may serve as guidelines for election experts and officials in designing and performing their current tasks in this field.

On the other hand, by publishing and distributing the experience gathered, ACEEEO is going to support the organisation of non-partisan election propaganda in a direct way. In order to achieve this goal, we want to improve the timeliness and enrich the contents of the ACEEEO web site on the internet.
