INVITATION LETTER

In year 2001 the Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) celebrates the anniversary of its foundation.

In 1991, senior election officials, government and civic education leaders, and academics gathered in Budapest, Hungary for the Central European Electoral Systems Symposium.

This historic meeting led to the founding of the Association, which promotes the institutionalisation and professionalisation of democratic processes and procedures.

Since this time, 18 election management bodies, a state-level association of election officials, and one international non-profit organization have formally signed the Charter. 

In year 2001, the ACEEEO holds the

jubilee conference in the island of Brijuni (Croatia) 13-17 October, 2001.

This year’s conference titled

“Transparent Election Campaign Financing in the 21^st Century”

will provide the chance to meet colleagues from Europe and from other parts of the world. The conference will feature professional development workshops, panels of election experts, an exhibition of electoral equipment and services, an election history exhibition, a Croatian cultural event and the beauty of the Island.
