Mr.
Lansell serves as Director of Programs and Strategic
Operations at IFES. He also serves as IFES’ point
person on our small, yet dynamic U.S. Election Services
unit where IFES has given technical advisory services
to U.S. States and jurisdictions including Nebraska,
Minnesota, Florida, Puerto Rico, Virginia, Missouri,
Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Since joining
IFES in 1993, Mr. Lansell has developed, managed,
and participated in dozens of on-site technical missions
including election observations, pre-election technical
assessments, on-site technical assistance efforts,
civic advocacy programs, and civic education efforts.
With IFES, he has traveled throughout the former Soviet
Union, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East,
Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia promoting democracy
and governance initiatives. Prior to IFES, Mr. Lansell
served at USAID as an International Cooperation Specialist
for the Baltic Republics and Bulgaria and served as
USAID’s Interim Representative in Lithuania and Albania.
Mr. Lansell holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political
Science from Miami University (OH) and a Masters in
Business Administration from George Mason University
(VA).
