With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary, the ACEEEO Secretariat organized a training for the members of the Central Election Commission and the Territorial Election Commissions of Moldova in order to build sustainable institutional technical capacity and skills to administer elections and referenda. The training, named  Capacity Building Training for the Moldovan Election Officials was held in Chisinau, Moldova, between 14-18 July 2008.

It focused on organizational and technical skills necessary for administering elections and referenda, planning and assuring human resources for elections, conflict management and handling legal complaints. Strategic aims of the projects are the following: Consolidation of democratic institutions; strengthening the belief in democracy, conducting democratic elections - internationally accepted.

The target-group consisted of electoral functionaries from Central Election Commission (22 persons) and representatives from all 36 regional councils that are dealing with elections (36 persons). The ultimate test of the project will be the performance of CEC staff in conducting the next election in 2009.
